If people say ‘Hump Day,’ it normally means Wednesday. Getting past Wednesday or the middle of the week, close to a camel’s Hump, means you’ve gotten ‘over the hump’ and you’re on your way into the weekend.
Knowing that it’s just the middle of the week can be frustrating. Time can seem slow, and nothing is exciting, especially if you are swamped with work. The hours before your shift ends, you end up counting. Or to count the days before Saturday comes again.
There are things, however, that you can do to cope. With a friend or co-worker, you might try after-hour beverages. It’s just Wednesday, of course, but who can argue that you can’t have a cold brew in the middle of the week? Window-shopping can also be therapeutic (provided, of course, that you do not really buy anything!). Game night, visiting friends or family, or going to the park is also there.
